Maryam (1), Abdullah (3), Suheila (5), Abeer (10), & their unborn sibling are on their own with their mom, Dina, who is struggling to pay rent ($200/mo) and keep the children fed and medicated. Abdullah suffers from lung infections related to Thalassemia. He should be on antibiotics on a regular basis to reduce inflammation, but the money needed for medicine is often unavailable. He suffers from chronic low blood levels and iron-deficiency anemia and so needs food rich in iron, which his mother cannot provide for him.

 

Dina's pregnancy is at risk due to a severe mouth infection caused by four teeth needing root canals. There is no money for either the dental treatment or the antibiotics to protect her unborn baby from the infection in her bloodstream. Her due date is February 13, 2026, and she has no extra money to be able to prepare for her baby's arrival.
